Provo Temple Dig

Last night our ward had the chance to visit the new Provo City Center Temple site. They have been preparing the site for the construction of the temple. In this process they have unearthed the original Provo Tabernacle and are doing a full archaeological survey. We were able to tour the dig and learn a number of things. I will add more details to the bottom of the post in a couple days.

We had a great time. The even let the kids dig through the dirt to find treasures. They were successful in finding lots of rusty nails. We are really looking forward to seeing the temple go up. I was also able to arrange for our ward to return and help, clean, sort, categorize and photograph all the artifacts that were unearthed. It should be fun.

Here is a slideshow of the evening.
