Christmas Cards & Great Nativity App

I have been silent for a few weeks; tithing settlement (calling), year end gifts (work), and family in town have slowed me a bit. Depending on your perspective that might be a good thing. Today I wanted to share a couple of things. First "The Mormon Channel" has released a Christmas card generator for Facebook. It is pretty cool. You choose the card, then the video message, add a couple of your own thoughts, pick the friends you want it to go to and push send.

The second cool Christmas item is the launch of the new iPad app with Bible stories. This just the first installment  Currently you can watch or read the nativity story. Or navigate around on a map of the holy land and the locations that pertain to the nativity. Because this just the first iteration watch for this app to expand to include the entire New Testament. Here are some screen shots of the application. I love this thing I have been playing with it all morning. I will be using it the night before Christmas to teach my little girls about the Nativity story. LDS or not this is a great little tool if you have an iPad.

This is what it looks like once you have touched the map and zoomed down to a specific location. You can further touch items to learn more about them.

This is what the map for the Nativity Story looks like. As you touch a part of the map it zooms in.

  2. Yeah, I know iPhone apps work on the iPad but I guess it doesn't work the other way around. That is too bad. Not sure if there are iPhone plans on the horizon.
